Cease the Crease!

We have all been there. You do your eye makeup in the morning, and by mid-afternoon, your eyeshadow has taken it upon itself to pool in the crease of your eyelid, making a mess! This is a makeup faux pas you should never have to worry about again, thanks to the magic of eye primers. I have three tried and true primers to share with my conscious beauties!

The newest addition to my primer collection not only primes your lids, it also acts as a concealer and cancels out any color in your skin, so your eyeshadow color stays true. MAC's Painterly Paint Pot is similar to my skin tone, and gives me a blank palette to do whatever fun eye makeup my heart desires! The paint pot is only $16.50, and comes with enough product to last you a year.

My other fav eye primer is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It comes in a small blue tube, has a slight tint to it, goes on creamy, and dries with a smooth consistency. This primer is amazing; the oils of my skin don't have a fighting chance when I use this as a primer! This small tube runs $17.00 and can be found at Sephora.

Urban Decay also makes a good quality eye primer called Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I have used this primer quite a bit (it was my go to product before Too Faced), and it does work really good. I recommend this product if you like Urban Decay, however I don't like the tube it comes in, which can be really tricky to get product out of when you are getting low. This primer sells for $18.00 at Sephora as well, but I would definitely encourage you to try one of the first two primers before buying this one!

Short & Sweet - It's all in the Pigment

MAC Pigments are one of my fav products to use as an eyeshadow. The colors are rich, beautiful, and stay put for hours. You can create some amazing looks with these pigments. If you have ever purchased one, you probably already know that they can be a bit pricey, even though they come with a TON of product. That being said, who ever goes through an entire pot? I sure haven't, and I use those pigments a lot! A budget-friendly alternative? Check out Makeup Geek's website, where you can buy samples of pigments for under $4.00! The samples may be small, but they still last you a long time. I have purchased several and I have yet to go through one completely! Quick Beauty Conscious Tip: Must-Have Mascara

Dior DiorShow Mascara is probably the highest rated mascara on the market, but it also comes with one of the most expensive price tags at $24-$28 a tube. Fear not my conscious beauties! I have found a similar product, with, get this, a price tag that is around a third of the price of DiorShow. The mascara I adore is Loreal Voluminous Volume Building Mascara. Now, you may be asking yourself, is Miss Beautyful really an expert on mascara? And to that I must reply, YES! Well, ok, maybe an expert in my own head :) But let me tell you, I have tried many a mascara in my day, trying to find the perfect concoction that keeps my lashes curled, doesn't flake, extends and plumps my lashes, all while remaining water-proof (big baby remember?). I was using DiorShow for awhile, until I realized how much I was shelling out for a tube of that stuff, and every six months at that! Loreal Voluminous has everything DiorShow has, and, dare I say it, I like it even better. Tis true. DiorShow flaked and gathered under my eyes, causing me to look like one of those rabid raccoons in Central Park.
